These are the events that define the Auburn and Opelika calendar year. If you're new to the area, these are the ones you'll want to know about.

Auburn Homecoming

October (varies)

Auburn University's homecoming is one of the biggest weekends of the year. Parade, tailgating, the game, and alumni gatherings fill the town. Downtown Auburn hosts the homecoming parade with floats, marching bands, and community groups.

A-Day (Auburn Football Spring Game)

April (varies)

The annual spring football game gives fans a preview of the upcoming season. It's a event welcoming to all ages with a more relaxed atmosphere than fall game days — a great way to experience Jordan-Hare without the intensity of SEC competition.

Toomer's Corner Rollings

After every Auburn win

After every Auburn victory — football, basketball, or any sport — fans gather at Toomer's Corner to roll the historic oak trees with toilet paper. It's one of the most iconic traditions in college sports and a must-experience for any Auburn resident.

Auburn Founders Day

February

Celebrating the founding of Auburn, this event honors the city's history and community. Downtown events, historical programs, and community gatherings mark the occasion.

Gogue Performing Arts Center Season

September – May

The Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center at Auburn University hosts a full season of concerts, theater, dance, and cultural performances. National touring acts, Broadway shows, and university productions fill the calendar.

Chewacla State Park Activities

Year-round

Chewacla State Park offers year-round outdoor activities including hiking, swimming, fishing, and camping. Seasonal events and nature programs are hosted throughout the year. The park's 26-acre lake and 700+ acres of woodland make it a favorite for families.

November – December

Downtown Opelika hosts holiday celebrations including the Christmas parade, tree lighting, and seasonal markets. The historic downtown district features seasonal decorations and holiday events.
